Carrie says:

Nice new theme. :) I like it.
.-= Carrie´s last blog ..Meet * Ast Riske =-.

Laurence Flynn says:

To be honest it’s just the same as the rest with a different colour scheme.

zen says:

@Laurence Flynn, not really.

It has more features such as:
1. 3 types of blog index style (I applied two-column magazine style, take a look at it)
2. jQuery effects
3. 5 google adsense positions
4. 5 types of fonts and 2 font sizes to be choosen from
5. PSD for header

In future updates, I will add dynamic “image zooming” , show nice messages for visitors that comes from search engine and more.

This is just an experiment. I will start making special themes for photoblogging and portfolio when I really step into paid themes. Also, did you notice the price is low :)

Cheers hostnexus :)

Atif Hussain says:

I love it :-) But is it poss if for example have the twitter updates appearing at the bottom and have different colour scheme or is that asking for too much.
Keep up the great work Zen.

zen says:

@Atif Hussain, for your information, “showing latest tweets” is already part of the features (I did not activate it at the demo and I wrote wrongly in the features list XD)

Regarding colour variation, that is already in the to-do list :) However, it is a grayscale theme lol. So I guess I will call it a mono-colour (one-colour) theme and add a few colour scheme to the theme.

FOTN says:

I’ve been considering buying this theme but I have a couple of question about it .

Firstly, I’ve been using the Luminated theme up until now and I prefer the way it’s main navbar is set up (not based on categories but rather the pages: home / about / contact). Will it be possible for me to easily set up the monoshade theme in the same way?

Secondly, in the ‘Features’ section you mention that the theme has ’3 sidebars to suit your needs.’ Could you go into a little more detail about each?

Thanks for your time. Keep up the good work.

zen says:

@FOTN, yes it is easy to change the navigation to pages, just one line of code.

Regarding the 3 sidebars, you can see it the big sidebar has 2 smaller sidebars below it. Here’s the illustration if you can’t get me. Also, the widgets at admin panel.

Smaller list items look better in smaller sidebar.

FOTN says:

Thanks for the reply Zen. I’m still quite fond of Lunated but I’ve just purchased the MonoShade theme :-)

zen says:

@FOTN, hi, thanks, I received your payment. I am ready to sent. But I have question to ask.

So I need to change the category navigation to pages. Then what do you want to show at the original page navigation menu at above? leave it blank?

zen says:

@FOTN,

(this is not related to your question above)

I just fixed a careless mistake. I bet you haven’t saw the jquery hover effect.

See the demo again, refresh to clear the cache, and put your mouse over the post thumbnails or post images.

FOTN says:

Regarding the navigation: If possible I’d like it to be the same as the one in Lunated. That means no menu above the header, just the standard navigation menu showing the pages rather than the categories.

Also, since it’s something I never managed to get using Lunated: could you make it so that the numbers in the categories sidebar menu aren’t visible? Hopefully that’s not too much trouble for you to do.

Thanks!

Ariana says:

“I will send the theme files to your inbox as soon as possible. You can send me an email to double confirm.”

And how long this “asap” usually takes? I’m waiting since Oct. 14, 2009 11:02:18 EEST and I would like to know, is it a question of time or something is wrong?

zen says:

@Ariana, for your information, I sent you the files to your gmail yesterday.

You entered that email in the payment form so I sent the theme to that email.

Please check your mail inbox. :)

Ariana says:

Thank you! We have received it!

Mike says:

Zen,

In this particular theme, would it be possible to have the images automatically resized so you can see the whole image instead of half of it in the featured slide show above? I also assume that there is multi level menus for the top menu bars of categories and pages?

Mike

Mike

zen says:

@Mike, in the featured slide show, whole image is being displayed.

There is no dropdown for pages. I will make it now and include it in version 1.1.

Oes Tsetnoc says:

beautidul themes

Mike says:

Thanks Zen. Any idea when 1.1 will be ready? I absolutely need the drop downs before I go any further. I will definately buy the Monopress theme with ‘Designed by’ removed etc etc. Please let me know when the drop downs are ready.

Thx

Mike

zen says:

@Mike, it’s done. Now it has 2 drop-down menus. :)

eQ says:

This is the best theme I’ve ever seen.
I am interested to buy it.
I also want a little change, in accordance with my request. Can you made them for me, Zen?

Thank you.

zen says:

@eQ, thanks.

Hmm, it depends on the matter. What changes do you want?

Mike says:

Lovely stuff. Just sent you payment via PP. Looking forward to getting my hands on that.

Mike

zen says:

@Mike, just woke up. :p

Sent the theme to your email inbox.

Mike says:

Zen,

Sent you on some buck earlier. Also posted that here when I sent it to you but the post seems to have gone……

Mike

zen says:

@Mike, don’t know why it’s missing sometimes but all comments are waiting for me to moderate. Before i approve it, only me and you can see it :)

Mike says:

Strange.its back now

Mike says:

Zen,

I received an email with moonshade _latest zip file in it. Can you explain what that’s about? Are there extra features or something or is it an upgrade?

Mike

zen says:

@Mike, it’s a quick fix.

It fixes 2 small things:
- Problem in IE6 for the new pages drop-down menu
- I removed “categories” from page.php since page cannot have a category.

Mike says:

Thanks.

On another note, is it possible to rearrange the position of the Link categories? I started with one link category and then added a second. The problem is, that I would like to see the second category listed above the first one if you get my drift. Is this possible? If not then it’s no problem and simply means that I would need to create my categories in a backward arrangement.

Mike

zen says:

@Mike, if the built-in sorting method at the theme options page doesn’t suit your need, I think “create categories in a backward arrangement” is the only way.

Mike says:

No worries. The link categories I refer to are the blogroll categoiries and they seem to appear in alphabetical order. I have two categories: Local Links and then Informative Links and informative links always appears on top so I just changed Local Links to ‘Local Links’ and that worked for me.

Mike

Mike says:

Zen,

There appears to be a issue with IE8. The More Posts function doesn’t display more or random posts. A mouseover ‘More Post’ shows javascript:void(null)and clicking the Mor Posts link does nothing.

Mike

Mike says:

Zen,

When I refresh the IE* browser I can see the More Post and Random post buttons no problem. I can also see the links below those buttons for about 2 seconds and then when the browser is fully refreshed the buttons are there but the links are gone…follow me?

Mike

zen says:

@Mike, after the page is loaded it is being rearranged into a tabbed menu. You should be able to switch between tabs like the one in sidebar (since they uses the same script).

I don’t have IE8 to test the problem. :(

Mike says:

Sorry Zen but its not IE8 but me myself. I had the page set to show six posts and altogether have only six posts so was asking the More Posts feature to looking for post No7 upwards that didn’t exist.

Mike

Mike says:

Just wondering how I might disable the post comment counts from showing up?

Mike

zen says:

@Mike, you have to edit the template files manually. Which part do you want to remove?

Please register at the forums and post a new topic there. It is easier to write there.

Also, by registering at the forums, you can login into the premium themes area using the same account.

MikeCruz says:

I only have one question, on the blogging style index, does it have the option to show full post without the thumbnails?

zen says:

@MikeCruz, Yes it have that option. I guess I failed to explain that properly at above. Updated the features section.

MikeCruz says:

Thanks! I just purchased it :)

erwin says:

Just sent you some $ for that awesome theme via pp. Can’t wait to have that set up!

zen says:

@erwin, item delivered :) Enjoy, thank you :)

Daniel says:

Just paid for this theme and im waiting for the delivery to my email. You really should set up an automatic deliverysystem of some kind that the major theme-sellers use.

zen says:

@Daniel, theme sent.

I will definitely do that in the future. Right now I have no idea how to do that, but I will do some research. Thanks.

Clément says:

Hey,
I’m interested in buying this theme but I have 2 questions :
- Is the theme ready for localization or will I need to go through the whole code to translate ? (to French)
- Do you think you might add Automatic thumbnails to the features ? The theme is great, but thumbnails are always a pain… I know some what some developers do is that first image in the post always gets resized and used as thumbnail if no “thumbnail” custom field has been filled in.

Anyway, good job on this nice theme.

zen says:

@Clément, Hi Clément, thanks.

1. The theme is not ready for localization so yes you will need to change them yourself.

2. Automatic thumbnails feature will be available in next version (soon). That is actually part of the to-do list because some people also requested to have that.

Thank you.

Clement says:

@zen, Thanks !
Do you have any idea how “soon” the next version will be available ?
If it’s within the next 2 weeks or so, I guess I’ll buy it and try to adapt the theme in the mean time, ending with translation.
I have no experience in localization… but I will gibe it a try :/.

zen says:

@Clément, I would say the new version would be released in less than 1 week. Cheers.

Khirr says:

I love all themes you create, really good job.

Raymond says:

I’d absolutely pay for this theme if it had a dark background and supported threaded comments.

zen says:

Hi raymond, it supports threaded comment and it can have unlimited colour schemes so I can make a colour scheme with dark background for you.

Edi says:

I really like this theme. I’m building a multi-language website and was thinking of Drupal, altho now i’m considering WP with these excellent themes. would I be able to build a website which is available in 3 version of 3 different languages using WordPress and this theme?

zen says:

Monoshade theme do have localization feature where you can change your site’s language easily.

But I am not sure about language switching since I never did anything like this. But I believe there’s plugin available for this purpose.

Hades says:

Ey! I want to buy your theme, but I read about a new version, is it out already? if not, When it will be?
Congrats

zen says:

Current version of monoshade is considered stable.

Next version will include only minor changes (takes about few mins to upgrade) + extra colour schemes which just need pasting.

New version may be available in 1 or 2 weeks time.

Cheers.
