Lunated Wordpress Theme 1.4.4
[ Downloaded 5042 times | ]

Check back soon, an important update (wordpress thumbnail feature and version checker) is rolling out to all Zenverse themes, starting from the latest theme.

Recommendations for User

Manual Excerpt

To make your blog looks better, you need to include a manual excerpt for every post (like my blog). You can add that while editing or adding new post. You can, however, leave your excerpt empty and wordpress will automatically make an excerpt for you, but all HTML tags would be auto removed.

Post Image & Thumbnails

Post Thumbnail is a square image of size 125 x 125 pixels, shown at blog index, related posts and search.
Post Image is an image of size 550 x 190 pixels, shown at single post page, below the post title.
To beautify your blog, try to include post thumbnails for every post (if possible).

Featured Category

In most cases, not all your featured posts are in the same category. You can create a new category (let’s say I called it : Featured) and choose it as the “Featured Category” at the theme option page.
Step-by-step guide to activate Featured Gallery

WP-PageNavi Plugin Conflict

Some users reported that WP-PageNavi plugin causes the sidebar and footer to be missing. If you have WP-PageNavi plugin installed, you should either deactivate the plugin or remove the built-in WP-PageNavi plugin to avoid conflict.

Notes

1. You need to install flickrRSS plugin to show your flickr photos at footer.

Fabien says:

Hello,

Good job and beautiful theme! Thanks!

Ange Recchia says:

Hi Zen, I found your theme today and love all the features. The subscribe by email won’t hook up when I add my details in the theme options even though I have this function activated in my feedburner account. I’d really love to have it enabled for my blog. Any ideas? I’ll be happy to buy you a coffee for your support.

Thanks, Ange

zen says:

@Ange Recchia, thanks for notifying me about this matter.

It will be fixed in version 1.1.3.

At the mean time, to manually fix that, open the theme’s sidebar.php at admin panel > Appearance > Editor

Search for

<form action="http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify&quot; method="post" target="popupwindow"

Replace the method="post" with method="get".

Cheers :)

Ange Recchia says:

@Ange Recchia,

Thanks, that is working now :)

The Feedcount button isn’t showing either. The html code is pasted in but I can’t see it under the subscribe to email option.

One more thing I’d like to ask is if it is possible to have the Flickr widget in the bottom right hand side of the footer like you do with this theme? It looks a lot cleaner than sitting between posts and footer.

Thanks Zen, and for the quick reply too :)

zen says:

@Ange Recchia, aww totally missed that part.

Edit sidebar.php again, replace all contents with this.

I submitted the new updated theme to wordpress, but it usually take 24 hours for them to approve =x

Regarding the position of Flickr widget, you need to wait for version 1.2. Because I need to edit the file and structure, I will do it tomorrow :)

Cheers.

Ange Recchia says:

@Zen,

You’re a legend! Quick answers and my site is looking great!

Now all I have to work on are my thumbnails… my previous theme didn’t require them so lots to do.

Looking forward to the update, thanks so much :)

zen says:

@Ange Recchia, you’re welcomed :)

Cynthia says:

Hello Zen,

First, this template is extremely fantastic! Best I’ve seen thus far on the web. I love all the functionality.

Also, I wasn’t sure if you noticed, but after checking the template in IE and safari and comparing it to Firefox, the template looks are a bit different. If you want specific, I can give you specific, but you might already know!

zen says:

@Cynthia, I’ve provided an updated version at above if you noticed.

Cheers.

Ange Recchia says:

w00t! The changes are fantastic, choice of font and the bigger size makes it easier to read! I also like Flickr in the bottom right of the footer Thanks so much, it’s perfect for my site… Kudos for a great theme :)

jordan says:

Hi Zen

Great theme! But im having some problems with it and hoping you can help…

when i post it removes the sidebar widgets and footer from the homepage..do you know why this is happening?

also i dont understand the featured category process for the homepage? i have added a category called featured and added the larger 550 x 190 image but nothing shows up?

thanks

zen says:

@jordan, I see your site is okay now.

Camilo says:

@zen,
hey, great job whit the theme, but i have the same problem that describes Jordan.

please help!

zen says:

@jordan, lol jordan you removed the copyright information.

@Camilo, I see you are using the revival theme. no lunated. Have you tried version 1.1? Clear all cache and try again.

Camilo says:

@zen,
thanks for response me!.
yes i claer the cache and nothing.. =(.. back to the Lunated, and still the problem… but no see it in the pages.

why?

Carrie says:

Love the theme!

I am trying to add the flickr footer and I got the flickrRSS plugin etc, but I do not know where to put in my own group information so the photos will show up. If ya know something I don’t will ya let me know? Thanks.
.-= Carrie´s last blog ..Ville Interview Download =-.

Carrie says:

@Carrie,

Never mind I see it in the drop down in that plugins. :-P DOH!

Josh says:

Great theme, just one question how do I make links in post work on the front page? Now the link is only active on the individual post page.

thanks

zen says:

@Josh, the links are active but they have same colour as normal text. Add this code below to style.css

—————

.excerpt a,.excerpt a:link,.excerpt a:visited {
color:#f284a0
}

Steph says:

Hi Zen,

I love this theme and am currently using it for my site. I think everything is working except that when I try to access posts in my older archives, even though there’s an excerpt, nothing comes up when you click read more. Some posts actually lead to others, which then don’t open. See specifically December or October of 2007.

Any ideas on how to fix this? If I install other themes, the text is there. But I want to use yours!!

Thanks,

Steph

zen says:

@Steph, did you changed your permalink setting at that time?

All permalinks were displayed in the theme using this code <?php the_permalink(); ?> and I can’t figure out what’s wrong. It should works at anywhere.

The problem should be with wordpress? Try checking the permalink of posts created on Oct 2007 at “edit post”?

zen says:

@Camilo, this is weird. No one had this problem. Maybe you should try deactivating some plugin and see how is it. Maybe there are some conflicts between your plugin and my theme.

Camilo says:

@zen,
YOU RIGHT!
XD
thanks man, for the record:
the WP-PageNavi Pluggin not work whit your theme

zen says:

@zen, oh thast why.

I have built-in wp-pagenavi plugin so you have to disable either yours or mine.

Cheers.

Sarah says:

Hi Zen, absolutely amazing work! I’m kind of new at this, but I notice that when I download a picture/image in an article or post, it doesn’t show up on the front page, it only shows when you click on read more of the entire article or post. How do I get the picture to show in the box above read more? Thanks in advance

zen says:

@Sarah, currently the theme shows excerpt at blog index. Images were removed in excerpt so that is your case.

You have to wait for future version where you can choose to show excerpt or whole post at blog index.

Cheers.

Matt says:

One of the best free themes I’ve ever seen. Using it now on Beat Making at The Producer’s Den.

أبو رسين says:

please support the right for arabic

and the separation of the language file ..

thank you

zen says:

@أبو رسين, right now I have no idea how to internationalise my theme. Maybe in the future. cheers.

bankje says:

Hello zen, i have same problem with lunated themes. i dont understand the featured category process. i create a new category (called it : Featured) and choose it as the “Featured Category” at the theme option page but it’s not working. please help

zen says:

@bankje, do you have post image (550 x 190 pixels) for the posts in featured category?

I will make a FAQ in the post above soon.

jamesthebard says:

Appreciate the theme. It’s one of the few that has everything that I’m looking for in it already (including thumbnails).

Thanks,
JamesTheBard

carly says:

hey hey! gorgeous theme, just having a tweak now and seem to be having an issue with the featured post images. theyre not filling the space provided even though i made sure they are all the right size. ive seen other sites using this theme, like the producers den, and the image fills the black line box fine. what can i do to fix this??

thank youuuu!! x x

zen says:

@carly, post image must be 550 x 190 pixels. Your images were 500 x 179 pixels which is smaller than the box.

Cheers. :)

carly says:

@carly,

hi thanks for the quick reply but once again i am actually using the right size images… wait okay, its flickr. im linking from flickr and its shrunk my images!! any idea how i can stop it from doing this? i know this isnt about your theme but maybe you know? :/

thanks!

zen says:

@carly, I don’t use Flickr so I don’t know. sorry :(

carly says:

sorry, me again, sorted the img issue, but ive been playing around and changed the bg colour to black (000000) in the stylesheet, didnt like it so changed it back to grey (2d2d2d) and its not actually changing back when i “visit site”… any idea why? very frustrating :( thanks!

carly says:

hmm its okay now… took ages… heh. sorry. so glad to know youre there tho :D

zen says:

@carly, so is everything okay now?

I was sleeping when you leave the comments. Now it is morning :)

Cheers. Have a nice day.

Ross says:

Thanks for the great theme. I was wondering, is it possible to have videos appear on the ‘home’ page. At the moment it seems like it’s only text that can appear on it – if I embed a Youtube video it only appears when I click on the ‘read more’ icon.

zen says:

@Ross, you have to wait for version 1.3 where you can choose to display excerpt or full post at blog index. Cheers.

Ross says:

Thanks for the quick response Zen, I’ll look forward to that. Do you have a timescale for when the 1.3 update will be ready?

Keep up the good work.

zen says:

@Ross, maybe in a few days. I have unlimited amount of work everyday :(
Cheers.

verilix says:

Hey,

The theme is amazing. I absolutely love it. I edited it a lil’ bit, as I wasn’t fond of Pink (lol), however, when I make a page, and then a subpage, the subpages aren’t displayed on the pages. You can still access them if you know the direct URL, however, you can’t access them from their parent page – as they’re not displayed.

Any assistance on this? Anyone experienced this before?

Thanks!
and again, awesome theme!

zen says:

@verilix, maybe you can use a plugin which is made for this purpose.

http://www.dagondesign.com/articles/list-subpages-plugin-for-wordpress/

Cheers.

Sassy Valentino says:

I love your theme and I am using it for my site. I have one small problem though. I was wondering why the site hadn;t been indexed after being live for a few days so I looked at the source code.

In the WP Head section there is a robots meta tag for noindex, nofollow.

Despite going through every file in the them I couldn’t see where the theme was pulling this meta tag from. Obviously I want my site to be indexed so if you can tell me where to get rid of the tag I will be very grateful.

Thanks and keep up the great work. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for your future themes!!

zen says:

@Sassy Valentino, of course you can find it. That was from wordpress itself, which you choose to hide your blog from search engine.

Change it at Admin panel > Settings > Privacy

Sassy Valentino says:

@Sassy Valentino, Thanks for the quick reply Zen. I found that out as well. I went to WordPress support forums.

I had a dummy moment…I forgot I had hidden it from search engines while I was getting it ready lol

Helen says:

I seem to have code embded in my posts on the main page – anyway of removing this?

zen says:

@Helen, what kind of codes?

BTW, now your site is having 500 – Internal server error.

mini says:

Hi there is a problem with the “pagination” on the main index page. When I click in the page 2 or next (symbol ») it goes to “index.php/Index.php/page/2″, when it should go to “index.php/page/2″

I’ve got the almost pretty permalinks solution and I cannot change that (IIS server).

How do I solve this issue? On the template options “wp-pagenavi.php”?

Thanks in advance :)

zen says:

@mini, this is a common problem for wordpress hosted on IIS. I have no idea how to fix it and where the Index.php comes from.

However, there is a solution on the web:
1. http://www.7three.com/blog/computers/tips-tricks/pretty-wordpress-permalinks-iis-without-404-22/

Hope it helps.

Y says:

Hi,

is there already a date for the release of 1.3? Because I’m desperately waiting for the “show whole post instead of just an excerpt”-option. ;)
Or is there a way to change this manually by changing something in the php-files?

Thanks and keep up the good work!

zen says:

@Y, its out. You can upgrade now. Cheers.

Cynthia says:

Hey Zen, I just wanted to suggest for the next version of Lunated if you could add facebook and myspace to the bookmarking tools :)

Great theme!

zen says:

@Cynthia, added facebook button in version 1.3.4

Is myspace necessary too? o.0

Cynthia says:

zen, thank you! I look forward to seeing it :) Nah, myspace isn’t necessary :)

jb says:

wonderful theme! thanks for providing this masterpiece! I do have a quick question though. How do you activate the Read More link. I’ve edited my theme to display the post content instead of just the excerpt and when I use the Read More link in my post, it appears on the homepage but it’s not an active link. I’ve been trying to figure this out for days. Your help will be greatly appreciated!!!!

zen says:

@jb, it is an active link but it has same colour as normal text.

Anyway, upgrade to the new version 1.3

jb says:

zen,

it does have the same color as normal text but it’s not a link. i still can’t figure it out. also, the bottom of all my posts on the homepage have something that makes the pics and tex turn gray (approx. the last 50px of the post) please help! :)

zen says:

@jb, sorry but did you even look into the theme option page? You can turn off the gradient there.

jb says:

Thanks for the quick response Zen but I don’t have that option in my theme settings. Does it make a difference that I’m using version 1.1. I want to upgrade but I don’t wanna loose the edits I’ve made. Is there a way I can change the code to get rid of the gradient?

zen says:

@jb, yes that feature is added in version 1.3

Anyway, you can change it yourself

Open style.css:

For .excerpt, give it height: auto;
For .grad, give it display:none;
For .grad2, give it display:none;

Cheers.

Helen says:

Most of it is working well and I love the theme, however when a person tried to comment on my page – when the text area is highlighted it goes all white.
I’ve looked in the style.css but have no clue how to change it… can you help

blog.hainasplace.com.au to see what I mean… thanks

Helen says:

@Helen,
how do i also floar the “navbar” with the header..

thanks

zen says:

@Helen, I saw your problem. I think that is caused by your plugin because it does not happen to me. See it here

Furthermore, I did not apply :focus to the textarea.
Cheers.

zen says:

@Helen, I saw the problem at navbar just now but its okay now.

Helen says:

@Helen, thanks I think I’ve resolved most of it – but it still looks funny with ie8 – its ok with firefox and safari – the navbar and header…any suggestions

zen says:

@Helen, I think you edited header.php yourself. You messed up the coding.

In your HTML source I saw this:
<div id="navbar">
<ul>
<li class="current_page_item">
<li> <a href="/gallery/contact.shtml" rel="nofollow">Contact</a></li>

Note that the <li class="current_page_item"> is not closed.

Helen says:

another question I have is when this theme issues a user friendly error message – eg when someone doesn’t type in all the fields in the comments section – they receive and internal server error 500 – my server gets the user friendly message – any ideas – running iis7.0 windows 2008

zen says:

@Helen, sorry, no idea at all
o.o

Helen says:

@Helen, found the problem – on my iis server where you configure custom error messages – you can set where they are displayed

Arthur says:

I have a quick question – is it possible to modify the purple accent color within the theme? Is this something that is relatively easy to do or does it require a whole new theme creation?

I love the layout, features and ease of use for the integration pieces, I’m just hoping to in some blue or green for the purple.

Not that there’s anything wrong with purple…

-A

P.S. your themes are awesome, I’m glad I came to the site to see some others – Revival is great!
.-= Arthur´s last blog ..Hello world! =-.

zen says:

@Arthur, bot hard but it need some time to make it. Because I need to change the images beside just colors in CSS.

Kevin says:

I too wish to know where to change certain colors. I got gray on the icons where I wanted, however in the right sidebar, where it lists Categories, Comments, Recent posts, I want that to be a gray instead of the purple. I have been spending a long time looking for the CCS but cannot find it.

zen says:

@Kevin, that is an image. and the CSS was in tabber.css
